MOSCOW, June 19 (Sputnik) - Poland head coach Adam Nawalka said on Tuesday that the second goal scored by Senegal in Poland's 2-1 win at FIFA World Cup match was "ridiculous."
Forward Mbaye Niang scored the second goal for his side, capitalizing on Poland midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak's poor back pass, which left goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny stranded, and the Senegal forward had the simplest of tasks to slot the ball into an empty net.
"The second goal was ridiculous. We controlled the ball, I'm sure, [Jan] Bednarek didn't see a player running to the touchline and couldn't appear in front of him at the pitch. The ball was passed from the middle, the defender couldn't see the player from the side, there was a misunderstanding. Szczesny tried to save the situation, but he didn't manage to do it," Nawalka told journalists.
Poland head coach added that he did not know how to analyze the situation.
"We were also surprised by the fact that there should have been the substitution, but it was not implemented then. We need to figure it out," he said.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and will continue until July 15, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
